A Moroccan feast under the stars

Chez Ali has been Marrakech's big night out since 1980 — a reconstructed Berber village of grand caïdal tents in the Palmeraie, lit by lanterns and hung with carpets. You're seated in a tent and served a multi-course Moroccan dinner while musicians, dancers and acrobats move between the tables. It leans theatrical and touristic, and that's exactly the point: it's a spectacle.

The finale is the Fantasia itself — costumed horsemen charging across the arena firing muskets in unison, followed by folklore troupes, a flying carpet, and fireworks over the palm grove. It's a huge hit with families and first-time visitors. Come for the atmosphere and the show rather than fine dining; the food is generous and traditional rather than gourmet.

Good to know

Before you book

What exactly is the Chez Ali Fantasia show?
It's a large open-air dinner show in the Marrakech Palmeraie: a multi-course Moroccan feast in a Berber-style tent, followed by a Fantasia — horsemen firing muskets, acrobats, folklore troupes, a flying carpet and fireworks. It runs every evening and lasts around four hours in total.
Is it good for families and children?
Yes — it's one of the most family-friendly evenings in Marrakech. Children love the horses, the acrobats and the fireworks, and the seating is comfortable and relaxed.
Is the food the highlight?
Honestly, the show is the star, not the cuisine. The dinner is generous and traditional — tagine, couscous, grilled meats, pastries — but people come for the spectacle and atmosphere. We'd rather set that expectation clearly than oversell the meal.
What's the difference between the group and private option?
The group (shuttle) option at €40 includes a shared shuttle pick-up and is the best value. The private option at €55 gives you a private car and more flexible timing — better for couples, small groups or anyone who prefers not to share a shuttle.
Are drinks included?
Dinner is included, but drinks — soft drinks and alcohol — are paid separately at the venue.
