A hot air balloon at dawn is the one experience people rarely regret splashing out on. You lift off just as the sun comes up, drifting silently over the palm groves, Berber villages and desert plains north of Marrakech, with the High Atlas turning gold on the horizon. It's calm, surreal and unlike anything else you'll do here.
The flight itself lasts around an hour, but the morning is a whole ritual: pre-dawn pick-up, watching the balloons inflate in the half-light, the flight, and then landing to a traditional Moroccan breakfast in the countryside before heading back. An early alarm, yes — but worth it.
What you'll do
Pre-dawn hotel pick-up
We collect you in the dark so you're at the launch site before first light.
Watch the inflation
Coffee or tea in hand, watch the crews fire up and inflate the balloons as the sky lightens.
Sunrise flight (~1 hr)
Lift off at dawn and drift over the plains, palm groves and villages with the Atlas beyond.
Land to a Moroccan breakfast
Touch down and enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast in the countryside, plus your flight certificate.
Return to your hotel
A relaxed drive back to Marrakech, usually by mid-morning.
