Shop the souk, cook the tagine, eat the results

A cooking class is one of those experiences travellers consistently name the highlight of Marrakech — because you leave with a skill, not just photos. You start in the spice market, learning how to pick and combine the spices behind Moroccan food, then head to a traditional riad kitchen to cook.

Under a local chef, you'll make a full meal from scratch — a starter or Moroccan salads, a tagine or couscous, and a dessert — and then sit down and eat what you've made, with mint tea. You take the recipes home. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy needs are easily handled; just tell us in advance.

What you'll do

Meet & spice market

Meet your chef and walk the local market to choose vegetables, herbs and the spice blends behind Moroccan cooking.

Into the riad kitchen

Head to a traditional riad, welcomed with Moroccan mint tea and an overview of the menu.

Cook a full meal

Hands-on: prepare a starter, a tagine or couscous, and a dessert — with the chef guiding every step.

Sit down and feast

Eat the meal you've cooked together around the table — the best part of the day.

Take the recipes home

Leave with the recipes so you can recreate it all once you're back.

Good to know

Before you book

Do we eat what we cook?
Yes — the best part. After preparing a starter, a tagine or couscous, and a dessert, you sit down and enjoy the full meal you've made, with mint tea.
Can you cater for vegetarian, vegan or allergies?
Absolutely. Moroccan cooking is very vegetable-friendly, and vegetarian, vegan and allergy needs are no problem — just let us know when you book.
How big is the group?
The group class is kept small so everyone gets hands-on time. If you'd prefer it to be just your party, the private class at €75 is for your group only, with a more flexible menu.
Is it a morning or afternoon class?
Both are available — a morning class includes the market at its busiest, an afternoon class flows into an early dinner. Tell us your preference when you book.
Do we get the recipes?
Yes, you take the recipes home so you can recreate the dishes after your trip.
