Ouirgane Valley Day Trip
A quieter side of the High Atlas
Ouirgane sits in a lush valley on the western edge of the High Atlas, about ninety minutes from Marrakech — close enough for an easy day out, yet far enough to feel like a different world. Walnut and olive orchards line the valley floor, Berber villages dot the hillsides, and the pace slows right down. It's one of the least-visited corners of the Atlas foothills, which is exactly its appeal.
The drive itself is part of the reward, climbing through red-earth foothills before dropping into Ouirgane's green terraces. You'll stop in a Berber village, walk a short section of trail with mountain views, and have a relaxed lunch before heading back to Marrakech in the afternoon. A good choice if you've already done Ourika or Imlil and want somewhere quieter.
